Thursday 6th December

The Northern Line are the newest and most exciting Soul, Motown and Northern Soul Party Band in the Nottingham, South Yorkshire and East Midlands area.

They are an authentic and unique band which has evolved from the group’s passion for playing all the classic soul/motown songs you remember from your youth – The Temptations, The Isleys, The Supremes, The Elgins, Martha Reeves, Fontella Bass, Edwin Starr, Dobie Gray and also Northern Soul dance floor fillers from R Dean Taylor, Dean Parrish, Judy Street, The Contours, Frank Wilson, Chuck Woods, Gloria Jones and Guy Darrell.

All five members of the band are experienced musicians and singers, who began performing as teenagers and have continued to enjoy being involved in live music throughout their professional and semi-professional careers. The band are lucky enough to have three members who all take lead vocals, sharing the songs between them, which means they can perform a wide variety of songs to suit all musical tastes and venues.

They will play songs that make you smile, want to dance all night and make you think ‘wow, I haven’t heard that for years – what a great song, what a great band!’ J.J.Barnes’ ‘Our love is in the pocket’ – THE quintessential Northern Soul dance floor filler – when was the last time you heard that played to perfection by a live band? or what about Betty Everett’s ‘Getting mighty crowded’ from 1965 – the one song that supposedly kicked off the whole Northern Soul scene. We love every song we perform with a passion!
